Foh Sang, meaning "harmonious community" in Chinese, is a neighborhood in Luyang, Kota Kinabalu, established in the 1970s during the city's suburban expansion.
Originally built on a former rubber plantation, it quickly became known as Kota Kinabalu's Little Chinatown. Its three blocks of shoplots developed into a vibrant enclave, attracting local residents—especially from the Chinese community—seeking groceries, traditional medicine, tasty food, and social connection.
Over the decades, Foh Sang evolved into an iconic neighborhood, mixing old-school businesses with new cafés and colorful murals, yet remaining faithful to its roots as a gathering place for friends and families.
